Appearance, Causes, and Treatment of Baby Diarrhea
Caca Baby: A Visual Guide How should I look like baby poop? Most new parents find a very surprising baby poop! It has so many tones and consistency that even experienced parents have not seen them all. This photo guide for baby poop will give you a good idea of the normal and what is not like your newborn grows, drinks breast milk or formula, and starts eating solids. You'll find out when you don't worry and when it's prudent to be worried, guarantee an immediate call to the doctor. And don't hesitate to call with any questions about, especially when you have a newborn. Fair warning: These are photos of the real baby poop! Please, only if you feel comfortable with that. If not, you can read this instead, or .Poop neonato (meconium) Run to find a green-black caca, jar, sticky that looks like engine oil in the diaper of your newborn. Since the meconium is made of amniotic fluid, mucus, skin cells and other things ingested in utero, it doesn't really smell – so you may not realize that it is the time of a . When your baby is 2 to 4 days old, your caca will become lighter in color – like a green army – and less sticky. This so-called transitional stool is a sign that it has started digesting breast milk or early formula and that its intestinal tract is well. Healthy Poop of Breasts If your baby is exclusively breast-feeding, your caca will be yellow or slightly green and will have a mushy or creamy consistency. It may be clumsy enough to look like it. The breast milk caca usually looks like Dijon mustard and mixed house cheese and can be stained with small fleas similar to seeds. Curiously, his smell is not a bad medium. There are many tones of the normal when it comes to chest poop. One you can see is a greener tone, which could mean you ate something different from what you normally do. If your baby is not experiencing other symptoms, there is no need to worry. If you see the bright green cocoa and frog in your baby's diaper, almost like the algae, it is probably getting too dark – the low calorie milk that comes first in a diet – and not enough Hindumilk, the fattest, supernutrientous matter. It could mean that you're not feeding her enough in every breast. To remedy this, start every feeding in your chest that you finished. Babies fed by healthy formulas have sticky cocoa butter, such as peanut butter in the brown spectrum: tanned brown, yellow brown or green brown. It's more pungent than the breastfeeding baby poop and a little less pungent than the baby poop that's eating solid food, but you'll recognize the smell. Iron-Forged Poop If you give your baby a , its poop can turn dark or almost black. This doesn't happen often, but it's a completely normal variation that would make Popeye proud. One thing: If your baby's poop is black and not taking an iron supplement, it's a good idea to call the doctor to make sure it's not melena, or digested blood. Solid food Poop Once you start changing your baby's entry to solid foods – child cereals, purified bananas, etc. – you will almost instantly notice a change in their production, especially if it is breast-feeding. Solid food poop tends to be brown or dark brown and thicker than peanut butter, but still mushy. It's also more smelly. Poop with partially digested foods Occasionally your baby's poop will have pieces of food identifiable on it or be teated with a surprising tone of the rainbow, such as red, orange or dark blue. Red could mean beetle, orange suggests carrots, and dark blue involves blueberries (you can see pieces of blueberry skin there, too). Don't worry! You're probably seeing it because certain foods are only partially digestible or travel so quickly through the intestines that they don't have time to completely break down. It also happens when your baby eats a lot of a type of food or does not chew a mouth completely before it swallows. The time to call your doctor is if your baby's poop always has food without digesting it. Your doctor will check to make sure your baby's intestines are absorbing food and nutrients properly. Diarrhea In babies, it is very spongy and seems to be composed of water more than solid. It can be yellow, green, or brown and can seep or "exploit" outside the diaper. Diarrhea can be a sign of an infection or allergy, and if it lasts a while without being treated, it can lead to . Call your doctor if your baby is 3 months old or younger, has more than two or three diapers full of diarrhea, or continues to have diarrhea for more than a day or two. It is also prudent to call your doctor if your baby's diarrhea contains visible or mucus blood. Constipation If your baby's poop is hard and looks like a little rock, it's probably. Your baby can be visibly uncomfortable when he's shitting, and the poop can even be bitten with blood to irritate the anus on the way out. One or two pebbly diapers is not a concern, but if your baby has three or more (or if you see blood), it is better to call the doctor. Constipation usually occurs in babies who are being introduced into solid foods, or may be a sign of sensitivity to milk or soy protein or a lack of tolerance for something in the breast milk or formula. Your doctor may recommend giving the baby water, pear juice or plum juice to help move things. Poop with mucus Does your baby's diaper seem to have been reduced? The striated green cocoa with shiny and shiny strings means there's moco on it. This sometimes occurs when a baby is especially drooly, as the mucus in the saliva is often not digested. But the mucus in the poop is also a sign of an infection or allergy. If you are accompanied by other symptoms or appear in your baby's diaper for two days or more, call your doctor to rule out any problems. Bloody PoopSometimes the blood in the baby's poop is bright red, and sometimes it's black (which means it's been digested). Bright red blood may appear in the baby caca for some different reasons. Call your doctor if you notice: When black blood appears in a baby's diaper – usually in small fleas that look like black poppy or sesame seeds – it is often because the baby is breastfeeding and swallows blood from that of Mom. Although this is a sign that you need pain relief, it doesn't pose a threat to your baby. However, you should call your doctor to make sure it's not something more serious, like bleeding from your baby's intestines. The end Want to learn more? Look at our or . Take a look at these photos to find out what the baby says about your health. We've talked about when it comes to adults, and what about the newborn baby poop? To understand what's going on with your baby's poop, we'll talk about color, texture and frequency. Baby Poop Color ChartTextureFrequencyNew Baby Poop Odour Download my Exclusive Baby Jacket Poop CheatBefore you start – a special gift for you Baby Poop Color Chart Similar to adults, the color of your baby's poop, shape and texture is a great way to understand what's going on in your digestive tract from top to bottom. Black Green This dark cocoa is called meconium. It is composed of amniotic fluid, secretions of the intestinal glands, bile pigments, fatty acids and intrauterine debris. Here are more information about . Mustard YellowIf you are breastfeeding exclusively, and your baby's poop is bright or yellow mustard (and sometimes a light orangish), congratulations, your baby poop is normal. TanIf your baby is in formula, and your baby poop is tanned and slightly solid (think a thin peanut sauce), then it is normal. Lime Green This color of the baby poop usually means there is some digestive discomfort. A reason for this is an imbalance of the wheelbarrow/hindmilk. That means that the baby is not getting enough of the rich creamy milk at the end of a feed and, consequently, getting too much of the liquid milk that is higher in lactose and lower in fat. This usually happens if you have or supersupply. In most cases, it eventually becomes normal. Make sure the baby ends one side before offering the other can help solve this problem. Another reason for an imbalance between the wheelbarrow and the rhinoceros is if the baby has a bad closure. If so, the baby may have a hard time getting the thick creamy milk out of his chest. If you think this can be the case. The lemon green poop can also be a sign of a stomach bug. If this is the case, the baby's poop can be smear and/or mucous as well. Another possible reason that the poop of your breastfeeding baby is green is the sensitivity to something you are eating (probably dairy). A elimination diet is the best way to deal with this problem. Finally, if the baby has recently eaten spinach or cabbage, this is most likely the cause of its green poop. Keep in mind, only one or two diapers with green poop is no big deal. If your baby continues to go green every day, it's worth investigating. Forest Green The dark green caca is a normal variation of a baby's cocoa that is taking an iron supplement. It can also be due to the transition from meconium to regular fecal matter. BrownBaby poop will start to become brown as it begins to eat more and more solid. Boring, but totally normal and ideal. WhiteChalky white or grey poop may be a sign that the baby is not digesting properly and that your liver is not producing enough bile. Call your pediatrician right away. RedRed poop is not necessarily serious. For example, this can happen after eating beets. If the baby's poop is otherwise normal, but contains red fleas, it is more likely caused by a dairy allergy. Remove dairy and see if it improves, even if you consider it may take a few weeks to leave the baby's system. Of course, check with the doctor too. If the baby's poop is hard and dry (a sign of ) and contains red spots, it is likely caused by small tears on the skin created by the strain to the caca. If the baby's poop is thin and aqueous and has red stripes or its poop is a raspberry color that looks like congealized fat, it may indicate a bacterial infection. Call your pediatrician right away. Black After the first days of meconium, a black jar caca could indicate bleeding. Call your pediatrician right away. However, if the baby is breast-feeding and you have crispy nipples and bleeding, you can find small black fleas in the normal baby caca otherwise. It's the result that the baby digested some of his blood and it's not harmful. Breastfeeding Poop The normal caca of a breastfeeding baby will be released and sometimes grain or caramel. These small "semillas" are undigested, totally normal milk fats. Poop-feed formula A formula fed the normal baby caca will be thicker than that of a breastfeeding baby, having the consistency of toothpaste or hummus. Baby in solid food poop When the baby starts eating solids, the texture of his poop will start to stay firm, but it will remain mushy (like a peanut butter glyb) until he stops breastfeeding. Food without digesting in the baby poopBaby with pieces of food not digested in it is considered normal. However, if the baby always has trouble digesting a certain meal, you may want to keep the offer until the baby is older. Or, look at the best probiotics for babies to help support your baby's digestion and assimilation. (to see my review of the best baby probiotics on the market.) Also, if the baby eats a lot of a type of food (and ends in the diaper), you may want to restrict the amount you eat at once. Remember, if you're totally out, you're not getting any nutrition anyway. Hard and dry baby stool If your baby is having (such as rabbit drops) that are hard to pass, he or she is probably. Breastfeeding babies are not usually constipated, as breast milk has the perfect balance of fat and protein. If the baby is fed by formulas and not eating solids yet, you should talk to your pediatrician — they may suggest or even change formulas. (!)Starting solids can bring constipation, and make the baby show before doing so. The baby's digestive tract needs time to adjust to what it's eating. Retreat in solid foods and breastfeed on demand. To find out more about other causes of constipation, take a look. baby or newborn diarrheaAlternately, if the baby is suddenly going through especially loose feces, you may be looking at diarrhea. This can be caused by a viral infection like . Call your pediatrician, who can perform tests to rule out bacterial infection. If the baby is already eating solids, put it in a BRAB diet (a variation of the BRAT diet): Bananas, rice and apples have qualities like tannins that can help establish feces; breast milk is great to balance your baby's diet and cure your intestine. You can also look at , which can normalize the baby's stool. Fried or mucous baby poopThe baby poop that is frozen or especially mucous can mean that something is not right. It could be the imbalance of the layer of shellfish/hindmilk we talked about earlier, or it could be a bacterial infection. On the other hand, sometimes the mucous poop is just the product of a baby who is drooling more (and swallowing that bib). If you are worried, or baby is showing signs of disease, talk to your pediatrician. Baby red or bloody or newborn puop.Blood in the baby stool is a terrifying show to see. But remember that the red baby poop could be caused by something that ate like a beetle or tomatoes. If your diet is just breast milk or have not had red food lately, you will definitely want to call your baby's doctor. We talked about other reasons for the red caca above (from dairy allergy to constipation), but it is always better to talk to your healthcare provider. .embed-pin { margin: 0.5rem 0 2.4rem 2.4rem; padding-right:3px; floating: right; ! @media only screen and (maximum width: 460px) { .embed-pin { margin: 2.4rem 0; padding-right:0; float: alone; text-align: center; ! ! Baby Poop: frequency How often do breast-feeding babies fall? If the baby is not uncomfortable or fussable, there's probably nothing to worry about. Your breastfeeding baby should have four or more good-size poops a day during the first 6-8 weeks. After two months of age, anything daily cocoa once a week is considered normal. This is because breast milk is so well absorbed and there are very few leftover residues. Having said that, I was always grateful that my babies would be every day. How often should the formula feed caca babies? Because the formula is more dense and less absorbable than breast milk, a formula fed from the normal range of the baby is 1-4 times a day. And be aware that frequency is not a sign of constipation, the texture is. Newborn baby Poop Smell... The breast-feeding baby poop usually smells sweet. Some moms have noticed that the baby's poop has a slightly vinegar smell that occurs just before a tooth passes. I think it smells like yogurt! Baby cocoa-fed formula tends to smell stronger. The foam poop could be a sign that something is not right, but it's usually just a sign that the baby has started eating solids (now!!!!! Again, if the smell is extremely bad, consider making a stool test to rule out any other potential problem. I've known my son wasn't having a normal closure, but I think this reassured me. It is BF, recently having multiple green and very small stools for its age (3.5mo). The doctor said he wasn't sick, but maybe he's not getting enough Hindumilk. He'll keep looking at this. AMy baby is 5 weeks breastfeeding only. Just shit every 5 to 6 days. The doctor said it's totally normal. But my baby gets green. My two-terfly old lil guy has recently had a frost. I am a first time mom and im exclusively breastfeeding. He's had a formula a couple of times but that's only when he's like something spicy and he's hurting his belly or he's away from me and I haven't pumped.. He has also begun to spit and spitting seems to be normal milk? What surprised me most is that there is no smell at all of his poop. We are feeding exclusively with Holle bio formula and have not had any smell in a diaper yet. However, it has recently become gastronomic and fussible for trying to throw it away. It's been three weeks before, so I guess your digestive system keeps discovering things. My 11-month-old is completely solid and started whole milk a few weeks ago. But he shits three times a day! It's a pretty sticky brown consistency, but it's not liquid. She's not acting sick. Could it be dairy intolerance? It is quite demanding with food and refuses to eat much more besides breads and fruits. But I give (full milk) smoothies that she shrinks and finds other ways to escape the vegetables so that she has a reasonably well rounded diet. Is all cocoa normal? I wonder if yellow mustard/green deforestation is normal for 7 months of age. Its stools can vary from mustard yellow to forest greenGran post! My 2-week son is strictly breastfeeding, but for the last two days, he has had a sticky texture and hummus. The same type you describe could happen with a formula-fed baby. Is this normal? Great job. Welcome addition of what a normal-size caca looks both in the first days/weeks and beyond 6-8 weeks. Thank you. Thank you very informative for sharing....plz help me. My 4-month-old baby has 6 green poop in a day after eating a very small amount of apple. What should I do? My 4-month-old baby has 6 green poop in a day after eating a very small amount of apple. What should I do? Hi, I was just wondering if your normality for my daughters shits to look lighter with the formula to change the whole milk My daughter is 5 weeks and 5 days old, is in formula, and her cocoa is bright yellow and slightly solid, is it normal? My son is almost 2 years old and his poop is still loose. Please help what I can do to help you. Do I need to change your diet if that's what? Hi my child is 4 months old who is fed exclusively from chest but their feces are thick as houmas now instead of thin and loose that are still mustards in color seems fine but I'm weaving a little... Hi. My baby is 15 weeks old and still his poop is drained, loose, granulate and frequency is three or four times. There's something to worry about. Hi, my LO is 10wks old, exclusively breastfeeding, and she's been shitting after each feeding, along with moco (her cocoa is mustard yellow). 3 days ago, she was a blood trail in her poop along with the mucus, but the blood is gone now, only the mucus is gone. I took her to the doctor twice and said she looks healthy and she's gaining weight and not vomiting or having a fever and she's not showing signs of bacterial infection. I asked for a lab test in his caca and said that even if they found bacteria in his caca, they can't give him antibiotics as he's too young. What do you think I should do? They said that the hospital is not a good place to bring it, as it is too young, they are full of sick. Hey, girls, my son's 8 weeks and 6 days. Its poops are lemon green with yellow spots and it's like mashed potatoes. It's been like this for about 2 weeks. We've let a midwife check it out, too, gave us ovol to give it to him. We also change the A+ conceit formula for lactose intolerant infamilous. Any advice? My 2-year-old niece is shitting softball balls and she's always constipated, can or please tell me what the wrong wig is. It's a big question for your provider. Hi my baby boy is 14 months old.. lately his fart has been very smelly n he also shit 3 to 4 times a day.. he doesn't merge or anything, but I jus wants to know if it's normal or something else. My 4 weeks old is fed with breasts and had been having more water cocoa without granulated/sweet texture. Except that tonight he fell off and along with the usual thing he had a piece of yellow poo cranberries in his diaper. I was surprised that I've never seen in my 5 children a lump in a breast diaper only babies. I'm not sure how a piece like that would even form breast milk. Today has been extravagant. I wanted to be held long and after I passed the piece it seems to be less fusible. Did you hear anything similar? I have a 2-month-old son and he drinks formula and only cavity 4 times in 1 month. Is it normal? My son has just over a year, and he's been eating solids for about 4 months. But for the last 2 weeks, her attitude has changed completely, eating much less and falling much less, despite plums, plum juice, and the maximum daily doses of water from the grip and the relief of the mother's happiness. But tonight, it was ripped off like pieces of semi-dried oatmeal, but it hasn't had oats in days. This has got me very worried. Has anyone heard or seen anything like that? My baby is 2-mo-old and is shitting every time he eats half a bottle of 5 oz and his lol bottom is red that he has fucked so much.. but when his poop usually over the size of a half dollar and smells horrible and is yellowish green. But he's also drooling alot and I just changed his milk from the yellow Enfamil to purple can soothe gently because he was pulling the yellow guy. What do I think my baby was like that, too, so fucked up he started getting sores. We ended up having to change it to Alimentum. He fixed it in three foods. It's expensive, but it's worth it. My baby was born on 17Nov2017, but still his poop is in dark green. Is there a problem with that? I loved this news release! Just as there are different caca habits for adults, there are definitely different baby cocoa habits too! It can descend to what the mother has eaten, what kind of formula has been fed, etc. It's always good to ask your doctor if you see any strange or abnormality in your baby's poop before you start diagnosing your baby. In most minor cases, you can find out with the visual color diagram to be guided as to what we think the baby's cocoa color might indicate. It's a dirty business, but someone has to! =) This is great! They asked me what's normal and what's not. This has helped me share advice more effectively! Although I have my own problem that I have recently faced my almost two-year-old son, his breath, urine and poop has a very strong metallic smell. Should I be worried? That's interesting, what are your thoughts suppliers? This post came at the perfect time for me. My two months of age is a regular daily peanut, exclusively breast-feeding, and this is the first time it goes on its third day without a real full of poop. Each few diaper changes will have a nick splat size but not a full stern. Now I know it's still okay if you don't get one for a full week. Luckily it's not fuse or visually uncomfortable. Thank you again for all the information you provide to the new concerned moms. I found this very useful! Thank you for taking the time to put it together in such great detail. Mom cares about her baby's stools. This was very informative! My 6 weeks old was only breastfed at first until I have slowly stopped producing milk, now we are completely fed by formulas for the last 3 days (Honest Brand, Premium Organic) she seems to be having a hard time digesting. He's been shitting a-two times a day, but it's thicker and harder for her to push out. And it smells so bad. Should I give him a few more days? Or try a different formula? Besides, he's taking 3 ounces every 2-3 hours but he always seems to want more, even when I give him more it seems he could move on. Could it be a sign that the formula does not satisfy it? Sounds like a big question to your pediatrician. Hi, my son's almost 3 months old and he just had a gray cocoa with a little green for her. He also keeps spitting almost all of his formula when he eats. I've heard that the gray poop can be a liver problem. But this is the first time it happened. He's got his vacs a week ago. Any information I can give? Please, thank you. It's also in the Gerber formula for soft tummies We had to change my daughter to this formula and when she woke up her poop was gray. What did you find out? My daughters shit the same way. I tried all the different gerber formulas and the Doc says it's normal but when I tried it in Similac it changed to normal yellow color without gray. Do I think it has anything to do with Gerber? It looks like it has acid reflux that you might want to try adding rice to your milk. But definitely check with your doctor. Thanks for publishing an important theme, and also doing it in an elegant way. I had to change the path of some pop-op information emails because it was too graphic. My baby made a shit once a day. Is it normal? She's only 1 and a half a month Hi... my son is 4 months old and passes greenish yellow stool 8-10 times a day from 4 days... I took him to d doc... he says it's normal... Just to clear up my doubt, you have recommended me to do your routine stool test to hit your pus cell. My LO just finished 3 months Nd 7 days has stools loose with the white face for more than 3 weeks really worried about it helps with a remedy to control it... Did you love LO? If so, this is completely normal! I'm glad to read this. My LO's 10 weeks old and started cutting his first tooth at 2 months! It definitely has a yogurt smell when it comes to diapers. And he's been shitting every other day: HUGE frogs. The poor girl is drooling like a big Danish. His new nickname is Scottish. Thank you for the great information! My two-year-old poop has weird marks and shapes. It's like he's taking a stick and marking it and it's semi-hard. My child is 3 months old and has yellow aqueous diarrhea for the last 2 days that she has just shot is normal or should take her to the doctor. My baby is 45 days old, and after 8 or 9 days it's normal or not just breastfeeding. Could be. Check with your child's provider. You forgot a bunch of babies. Combo fed babies. I'm at my 7 weeks old a combination of breast mill and formula. I have closing problems, so I exhale exclusively, and as I do2nt get enough out, we give you a bottle of combo of something about 25 – 50% breast milk, 50 – 75% of similar sensitive formula. Sometimes its cocoa is yellow mustard, and sometimes its green liquid. I guess the green lime. Should I be recruited? The color of the feces can vary. Check with your provider with any concerns. We're doing the same because of the low offer and my son's poop is exactly the same! I think the mustard cages are usually in the morning when you take more breast milk than the formula and then the green boxes of the forest are the combo offers. Hey, my 8-month-old daughter has been hitting a cold like a green stool for the last 2 weeks of green to yellow and then back to green in my country say that the green stool is soft only the dismay will like help. I'm going to do it on Wednesday to analyze it, please give your opinion. Thank you all for all the comments and answers. He really helped me. I'm relieved now about all the questions about my baby poop and health. Thank you, Genevieve. My grandson was very constipated when the birth doctors changed their milk and since then he has had diarrhea his milk now has been changed 6 times since then without any benefit Now he has 3 months of age and does not earn much weight, although very happy and happy But the daughter is worried as her poo only projectiles of himTha you not so much for your blog. As a first time grandmother, reading all QTAM has been very useful to me. My precious grandson is about to be 6 months old and his pottery habits have been a bit worrying for me, but after reading the blog this morning many of my questions were answered. Now I feel more calm. Thank you. My baby is 6 weeks and has been fed exclusively since birth. It's always been very fuse and extremely gaseous. He seems to be in a lot of pain and kicks his legs and arms when he screams. Just shit 1 to 3 times a week. When he does it, it's a lot and it's yellow and spontaneous. It was so fusible that my doctor suggested changing the soy formula and continuing to pump in case it doesn't work. He's been in soy formula now for about three days. It still has only twice and when it does it is green and thicker like clay. Since I've been on my way, it's still very fussible, but now it gives us more moments of happiness. It doesn't look so gassy either. But he does a lot for us before these poops. Is it normal for a baby only to go 1 to 3 times a week? And be in so much pain? The soy formula is probably the worst thing that could give the baby, and the new green poops are an indication that it's not working. Your baby was having normal caca, though rare before. The lack of knowledge of breastfeeding of your pediatrician will ruin your breastfeeding relationship. To get the baby to shit more often, try to remove the dairy, and work in your intestine a little. Mothers whose babies fall less often than normal need some dietary adjustments to improve their microbiomes. Probiotics and prebiotic fiber of foods will also help. Your baby has a lip/tongue ties. This will make your baby suck more air and result in being very gaseous, spitting a lot, and not shitting so much because the baby is not getting the back milk he needs. Have you used water? It is a natural solution for ace and fussibility, use it during feeding. We never turn off our LO a full dose, just a little to each diet. He helped enormously. Also check in your area for a breastfeeding consultant, which is amazing and will always be there to help you and your baby. You can find them in hospitals or in local offices. According to the soy formula is not a good option, doctors are now receiving setbacks to promote the formula. Stay with breastfeeding, it'll get better! Best luck! My babies were also very fussible and gaseous and I discovered two things... the first was that I have hyperlactation which means I have an excessively abundant supply of milk and a blunt disintegration that makes my babies look and swallow more air. The second thing is food allergies. My daughter is very allergic to eggs. It just fell once a week and was very fusible and also had an extremely dry skin. Once we found out and cut all the eggs she was more regular and her skin cleared. I forgot to mention I needed to cut all the eggs since I was breast-feeding. My son is 6 months old and has been in sensibility and soy now starting yesterday he had a slight fever, any stomach pain, green blood lime feces, with projectile puking. It's been almost 20 years. I only had tubes on Thursday. Let's see the doctor on Thursday. I don't have to. It is in high calories due to the failure to thrive (which lost a pound in a week ago in April and so we put it in a breast milk soy). It's got a reflection. The emergency room said it was a virus, but it's still suffering and not going to sleep. I will not use Morton but I have given you drops of gas, agarre water, Pedialyte, lavender bath, all natural vicks doctor approved, fresh cloth, stomach massages, Tylenol, evelado, plus the lateral lie. Should I put it in hypoallergenic formula? It's not in the baby food. Please contact your provider as soon as possible. He seems to be losing a lot of fluids and has a high risk of dehydration. I hope you feel better soon. Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me with my grandson. He's 8mths old my son has access to the visit 3 times a week, tonight when my son bought him home he was preparing him for his bath when undoing his nanny he had made a caca, normal or think but not the poop he made was black and on the length of his ring finger and as hard as a rock. I called my son and husband to have a look and none of us have experienced a poop like this before. His small background was so red and when I went to clean the remaining poo more or less I had to use my fingernails very softly with the towel as the poo was hard and crispy at its bottom. It was also so wet that it made a noise when I left it on the floor. This is a normal accurrence with wet nannies who are always soaking wet nannies. Do I have anything to worry about? Thank you. I'd call the doctor. It could be iron in your vitamins or formulas. It could be dehydration. She definitely calls. Hey moms, maybe you can help me. My little girl is about 4 and 2 weeks old now. her poop is like Greenyblack – and her very smelly as the old ones. I'm worried, since he's not eating solids yet. And there's time for them to spend 3 days before they shit. Is it normal? Thanks for being sure Hai my baby just crossed 5 months I started to cerelac in his 6 months 6 days as our tradition used to give cerelac twice a day after 6 days my baby stool yellow+green watery so I became only once, is it normal? You can share your experience, what foods are best for babies in the sixth month. I noticed blood in my baby's feces after I turned too. Doc denied correlation. We have a new doctor and no more vax. Hi. My daughter's gonna end up 2 months after a week. I was with cow's milk since birth, but once I gave her milk from Lactogen fed, she had diarrhea. After that doctor, Mox suggested me for my daughter's coughing problem. After taking that dose, he had a watery diarrhea again. After that doctor, Nestle Non Lo Lac suggested to me for my daughter. She's having a coughing problem and that's why she's spitting her food even after burying her. She stays hungry all the time. She's been stool twice a day with less qty. Please help me... Don't ever give the baby the cow's milk, please stop me from kissing me. They'll punish you with everything and really... Castigated by the Almighty! A little dramatic, you don't think! Remember years ago the children fed cow milk and lived to tell it! Why would you feed a cow's milk? There's not enough nutrients! Babies should have their mother's breast milk or formula period! Praying your pediatrician instructed you on this before long-term damage is done! Babies should start cow's milk at 12 months of age... Please, formula only without cow's milk until a year. I have 7 children trust me that your doctor will help you. Don't worry about the diarrhea you have to adjust to the change that won't hurt you, I promise. It's not too late to give the formula please start immediately if you haven't. He needs it. Sounds like he had a cold or something, and that was the reason for cough. You can add to your description if a baby who just started eating fruit, don't be alarmed if you see a lot of black worm looking at things in the shit. My daughter just started having this and after an investigation, it turns out these black worms are banana fibers. Hi. My son's spinning three months in a week and he's been very constrained for a while. We've tried to change the hks formula like 3 times. The Soy Enfamil seemed to be helping but rec3ntlyYour cacas are long, dry and rigid that looks like a mature poop. I researched in January when she was born or daughter because she suffered constipation. the constipation causes constipation. They contain palm oil and this causes constipation in babies. I changed it to similar and I never had a problem. Hello, please help me... My 18-month-old has had diarrhea now for a few days, but now it's gotten worse. It's almost like water and it's yellow. And it has an eruption that extends in its belly and back.. And where he's had so many bowl movements, but it's rash and the inside of his little tins I'm guessing about the diapers... Could it be a milk allergy? He also has no appetite... what can I give him to replace all his milk to check a milk allergy? We had to put my now 2 years old in the small-child formula. I think it's a big red can instead of cow's milk because he experienced this too when we try to change the baby's formula to milk. He used it for a year. She's been with milk of 1% for about 6 months, but recently started to show signs of lactose intolerance, again, she was in special formula for the sensitivity of cow's milk proteins like baby, we took it out of milk and dairy all together the other day and all the symptoms have cleared up. Or could it be possible by an allergic reaction to the diaper mark or any ointment used? Some of the diapers are perfumed. You might consider changing diaper mark or ointment and seeing what happens. My daughter is 6mo just started on stage 2 foods also taking formula and shit at what it looks like every day but is a dark green and mushy like peanut butter is normal? My daughter is almost 1 and is havinv yellow diarrhea with slim-looking things everywhere plzz helps not to know what My child is 8 months old he is having severe diarrhea for 5 days and does all the tests, he is having yellow poo almost 15 to 20 times a day and is getting teeth, someone said it is normal. Please respond to my email my baby girl is 3 weeks old and is drinking formula, but has not been poking frequently. We called the pediatrician and told us to change his formula we have but I haven't really seen a change My baby is 8 weeks old tomorrow and they haven't fucked for 11/2 days. When he tries to shit it would be very difficult. Please everything okay? I'm worried. Thanks MAMA NATURALPls gives the water of the immersion that is going to shit.. Leave the formula for now only give her breast milk Hi my child has 23 months and her cocoa is the life got sticky yellow with the type of white cure of small pieces in her .. her appetite has also fallen.. Can you help me, please? I'm very worried... but he's active. Any advice will be very welcome! Hi, my five-month-old poop is green, yellow mucous and small blood stain, it's normal. plz advises me. She's just breast food Hi my daughter is 4 months old, she's in a feeding formula -Cow PulGate Comfort because from birth she was very constipated. So far everything was fine, but since. a couple of days I've noticed in his poop are some brown red spots and a lot of mucus. She doesn't cry, she's really solved and quiet baby. I call the GP but the date is after two days. I don't know what to do and how to proceed. Should I accompany the formula or? Having a five-day breast-feeding baby. He hasn't fucked in 1 1 1/2 days. Alarm cause? Or did everything come out for the day? Always check with your pediatrician. However, my personal experience with my daughter — she would go several days (up to a whole week) without a dirty diaper. I grew up, I was happy, I had no fever, and I had the multiple wet diapers every day that they were "normal" for their age, so my pediatrician was comfortable with their spacing bowel movements. As she ageed and her consumption increased to the point that I had to complement with formula, the frequency of the intestinal movements arose — it became every 5 days, then every 3, then each, then each, then daily (to 4.5 months, 50% formula and 50% breast milk expressed, 30 oz daily, 20-30 oz accepted daily). and for greater clarity, their movements were always soft liquid baby poop — never any diarrhea or poop in shape. My loo makes cocoa after every food. loose n aqueous color bright yellow n texture is like teared milk as youghurt ... ...it's normal... a docter says his normal sone doesn't say his normal nt. The Pls help only be in formula milk... from the beginning means by birth that makes sooo... If you're 2 months old... support him, I feel like the dissipation test is or isn't it? Hi. I'm very worried about my soon her two months old and her poo are still loose and I feed both of them so I was wondering that I had seen a little white crippled in the camera only today but when I see in person there's nothing and it seems normal to do everything more at some point that doesn't drink formula like three ounces that drink two ounces but ends other days is it normal? He took him to the doctor twice for that, but they said he looks normal. Hi, natural mom.. I've got a 4-week-old who shits after every food. He has been in mixed food from the beginning.. sometimes the cacas are even more than 10 times a day..Some days are so rancid that they come out of the diapers..n poops are usually explosives. I'm worried about waiting for the ur response.. he's gaining weight but I feel he's still pretty weak. he was born 2.9kg n to 3 weeks he was 3.5 with clothes on. Babies who have very loose explosive poop, but check with your doctor to make sure nothing is wrong. My daughter is 7 weeks old. He's breast-feeding normally. But sometimes he shits on a day 6 or 7 times. Is it normal for her? Sometimes it passes urine 9 or 10 times a day. Is it normal for her, too? Ps help me know the right thing. Yeah, that sounds good. Make sure your weight is also in a good place. My six-week-old twin babies haven't fucked for two weeks, just fart and urine. Is this normal? They're in exclusive breastfeeding. That's not right. My doctor was scared when my 3 months old was 3 days without. I hope you bring babies to the doctor! My daughter has the same problem with the ur daughter who can't poop for 5 days using the soup every 3 days. Thanks was very helpful Hi, the daughter may be spinning for 6 months and her fart is very stinking with a totally black poop. He's drinking nan opti pro. Thank you in advance. Hello, natural mom! My baby is 18 months old next week, and this last week her cocoa has become spongy, creamy white, and occasionally red fleas, and it happens after her usual bottles of fresh goats/races milk from our local farmer. It still feeds on breast occasionally too, and we have been supplementing goat milk for 12 months and have not had any problems until recently. Do we get a fresh lot and all I can think about is a change of food for goats? I've let him spend so much time because I wasn't sure if he had some bug that was going around the other kids... But it's pretty consistent after a bottle is creamy every time. Suggestions? Thanks! Hi, my baby poop was also green in color... lime green to most green hunter. He was only in the breast milk at the time and wanted to feed every 2 hours, the doctor said to keep at least every 3 hours preferably 4 hours... So I met him in the middle and fed him every three and a half hours... problem solved! He ate better and slept better too, and I think in a better eating routine, I was always worried if he was eating enough and that's why he was feeding it so regularly (totally unnecessary), breast milk is the best and you shouldn't worry so much about it, that they get enough water and food to last at least 4 hours at a time, especially if the three months old, do you expect this to help? Hi Natural Mama! 🙂 I have a problem with my son's poop. He's 5 and a half months old now. It's been 6 days since this unusual problem happened. It happened right after or during the chest to my son, he always shits. It shits 6x-a-day or right after I hit him, his cocoa color is green. I'm so worried, but my son is still playful as if he didn't have a problem, except because he has rashes on his ass because of frequent poop and diaper change. Thank you in advance, I hope you can help me. Have you started solid? Are you breastfeeding normally? If it had happened once and had ended then I wouldn't be too worried (but keep an eye on it). Definitely talk to your pediatrician if you have concerns. Great pole! So my son is 17 months next week. She still prefers breast milk, but still eats solids. Especially he just wants meat. I think it might be behind the iron. We have smoothies with some pretty avocado fats or yogurts. However, from the 16 months it began to have episodes of diarrhea. These episodes tend to happen right after the infirmary and come with fever for a couple of hours. The one who doesn't want food just my milk, and loses weight. Mostly as very healthy but I feel like my milk bothers her stomach. I've been reading about the leaven of the candidacy and how many of us have it in our intestines and don't even know it until we get sick and our immune system is compromised. Then the yeast is left alone to grow. And you can get into the milk supply. He was recently sick with a viral infection last month and his stomach has been up and down since. Have you heard of this yeast? If so, what is your opinion on the subject? Could it be my milk? If so, what can I do because I'd like to take care of him until he's two, but I don't want to make him sick anymore? Tosshahello, my daughter has a soft black cocoa, for 2 consecutive days, is it normal or is it time for me to call a pediatrician? You are currently taking medications for your cough, a mucolytic, does your poo also affect? Tnx in advance. Hi. Natural mom, My 5-month-old (female) daughter had black green poop with black spots for the last 2 times. Is it normal? Or should I go to Doc's office? Thanks to your time If you leave in a day or so, I wouldn't worry. If it persists, I'd call the doctor. Hello, ma'am! My baby is 22 days old today, how long it takes for the baby to get soft yellow and I'm just breast-feeding! And I think she's not gaining weight or I'm in a hurry thanks! If your baby is exclusively breastfed at 22 days, you should have yellowish candy. Contact a breast-feeding consultant to find out what might be going on. How many months would the babies look yellow? Hello! My daughter is 13.5 months old. She's mostly breast-feeding, but she's been doing better with solids.. Unfortunately, it prefers solids that have caused constipation in the form of difficulty going like breads, rice and pastas. She's not very interested in fruits and vegetables except in the form of smoothing so we've been working on that more. How can I get her to eat better meals in an inforced way for her to enjoy them? Besides, my pediatrician has me worried that I'm doing something wrong if she's not eating much yet and suggested decreasing our infirmary that I think is totally unnecessary and counterproductive. Any advice would be highly appreciated! I'd put in front of your variety in every meal. Try to have 3 of the following with each diet: fruit, vegetables, fat, protein and grain (optional). She keeps exposing her to different things. She'll come this way. Maternal milk is better so let her decide how much she wants. You can also make smoothies and soups to get more nutrients and fiber in the diet. Xo! Please help with this. I see posting and sites with recipes of raw milk and information but no information about feces form, smell, consistency, daily poos,... I've looked everywhere for this. You can help. Also appropriate age information. About 4-6 months, 6-12 ect... can someone give you information? Please. Only those who really used it with their babies. It would also be great to add that to your cards. Thank you. Hi. Naturally, my baby is almost 5 months and I noticed that his poop contains some reddish points with a normal cocoa species. He's breastfed with some cereal. It's normal pleaseMy baby is 2 months and I'm back to work soon I wanted to know if it's okay to breastfeed and give formula. I do — baby Genevieve exceeds my offer so that your daily bottles alternate. It's a good day when I have to invent less than half of your formula bottles. Hi, my little girl turned yesterday 6 weeks. The last time he pooped on Monday afternoon, I'm worried there'll never be four. He's always been doing 10 times till Monday afternoon, I'm breastfeeding from day one. I don't know if that's normal and what should I do? ? I'm talking to my doctor who told me to give him a sugar beer I did but nothing helps. Can you please tell me if it's okay if it's not jumping. Thanks to my 3-month-old daughter, is green normal? And my son of constipation month what I can do to stop constipation Hello... This page has been very useful for, my 7-month-old daughter has spiced red mucus feces, I almost lost my mind when I saw, but just to realize it's because of her teeth and the doctor said I shouldn't worry. Thanks for this natural mom... God bless you. We have a 6-week daughter that has been changed to 4 different formulas along with breast milk just after birth she barely shits, but when she always makes her a solid stool of the size of a walnut and has been going on since shortly after birth and we have tried multiple medications like gerber water drops and grip water among others and no matter what we do nothing tells me doctor mep It takes about half an hour to cry pushing. Like I said stool is typical about the size of maroon nuts quite solid like the color and normal smell of feces. Any idea of my daughters' problem? You could try the milk donor to eat at feet or human milk for human babies. Alternatively, if milks are based on cows, it could simply not handle protein in dairy-based formulas to change to a plant-based or elemental formula. Ultimately, a 100% breast milk diet is probably the best solution. Donors don't bite. And most give full disclosure of their health (probably live clean and eat better than people who do not forgive because donation of breast milk attracts a certain type of person, usually the type who firmly believes in breastfeeding) I myself have donated to be the dirty hippie that I am and I have also become a friend of each of my receivers. Good luck 🙂 This is so helpful! My 15 months old is to drink milk and Pediasmart for extra calories because it is a small child – well it has always been. Their poops have been frequent 2-4 times a day. She has diarrhea at least once and twice a week and I think it's about changing her diet. I'm gonna deal with the BRAT diet and I hope that helps her. Hello!I have 7 weeks and has been in formula (Gerber Gentle) since birth. He's been having textured "regular" poops until a day ago. Now it looks like a poop that a breastfeeding baby would have (yellow and caramel). Is this normal? My bubba is 8 weeks tomorrow and just before today his first poop of the day was exactly what you're describing. (He's in formula too) I came here to take a look if I should be worried or not? I think I can call my stepmother in the morning if no one answers here. I have a question for you. I have a four-month-old. During the first week of his life it was EBF. I got sick with high fever and my milk supply closed a little. I had to supplement it with formula for about two weeks. Through herbal remedies and teas I could get my supply almost always just in time to get food poisoning... The supply collapsed again and will not return so I am supplementing again (your weight is low). Just shit about every seven or eight days. Before she had formula for the first time she was going every day. When he does, he's normal, but he's the guy who has to get an emergency bath and change clothes. She seems very uncomfortable for a few days before she shits. Dr. said don't worry, but he screams like he's suffering. She's so gaseous and doesn't want to eat much for a few days before she shits. My diet is pretty good. I tried to cut all the dairy that didn't make any difference. Just like the beans. Not like eggs or meat. I'm eating beans and dairy again along with grains and vegetables. Any idea what else I can prove? You should try to use a rectal thermometer and put some vasoline on it then glue the tip into your child's rectum and push the hole down this can help stimulate your child to go to the bathroom or spend gas. My doctor made me do this with my daughter and helped! Good luck I hope everything works for you Thank you, Moms, you're a great help. I've learned one of the most important things a mom should know about and it's a relief for you to derstand your baby. Hey, thanks for your job. I breastfeeded My 4 1/2 m/o child and is a little constipated (I think) that hasn't fucked in 2 days (today) and I see him struggling a little trying to push and comb. He hasn't cried and he's not fussable either. Pediatra says wait five days until I bring him in. Also breastfeeding consultant said to drink pear juice and dates, drink more water and eat more fiber. So yesterday and today that's all I've been doing but it doesn't poop yet Any other advice or advice you can share? I read about essential oils (peppermint) and also on iflora (child probiotics) but not sure what to do. Thank you! I just wanted to say that I don't recommend using mint oil as it's breast-feeding. You can lower your milk supply. Essential Oils are wonderful but can be complicated. My going to book is a DoTerra book called Modern Essentials – A Contemporary Guide to the Therapeutic Use of Essential Oils. There's so much information that it's so easy to search. I'd look for a good oil for you right now, but I'm moving and packed. Good luck! I have a question. Over the past few weeks, my son of almost three months has even gone through the brazen army. They seem to be on the liquid side and they're creamy. Your BM happens 2-3 times a day at once every few days. It seems to be happy between meals. Is this normal caca/consistency color? Dear natural mom, it's very informative thanks for the post. I need your advice. My 9-month-old son was breastfed for 4 months, then the formula begins. I was just drinking while I was sleeping for 5 months (not sure what went wrong), but since I was 9 years old, he's not even drinking while he was sleeping. I tried so many bottles, poppy cups, but he didn't like it. He doesn't want to drink liquids at all... I'm lucky if I can push 8 ounces in a day.. I've tried so many juices, yoghurt smoothies, so many tasty drinks out of despair, but he takes a sip, that also when he's fucking hungry and pushes him right away... Doc says it's the attitude, but I'm in a loss, he eats solid but not much he could fill his stomach, so since a week he's been sneaking in and going through hard stools and today he spent those rabbits as pebbles.... Can you suggest how I can make you drink milk or liquids?? I tried to change the formula but as long as it's a liquid it doesn't matter. Just reject it. Please help. I think I'd get a second opinion from a different doctor. There may be a physical reason your child cannot or may not drink liquids. I love your blog and I respect your opinion so I wanted to ask you something! My son is 16 years old, and he's mostly a nurse. We make the baby come near the weaning so I always offer him what he ate and always shares my smoothies. He plays mainly with food but loves any kind of meat. Drink the smoothies with all kinds of greens, fruits and healthy fats. I also give you cod liver oil and probiotics. So anxious if Im does enough or if he's getting enough. Is it okay for him to be mostly in nursing? I'm a first time mom and all this is so new! I just want the best for my baby! Thank you so much! I love your blog and I respect your opinion so I wanted to ask you something! My son is 16 months old and he's still mostly breastfeeding. We make the baby come near the weaning so I always offer him what he ate and always shares my smoothies. He plays mainly with food but loves any kind of meat. Is it okay for him to be mostly in nursing? I'm a first time mom and all this is so new! I just want the best for my baby! Thank you so much! Wonderful with the smoothies! My son Griffin was fed mainly by the chest until about 18 months. I introduced a yogurt drink when I was around 1, and that helped get more calories on it. The yogurt drink was just plain yogurt, full of fat in a bottle of numbness, squeezed only a little, and sweetened with a little liquid stevia (although you can use any natural sweetener); he would have it twice a day. HAHA! After having a baby, I regularly discuss... more than I imagined! We make cloth diapers. When he started eating solids, the poop was no problem. He got pretty into the diaper and the toilet and barely left a stain. But lately, I'm healing to choose fabric when I'm trying to clean nasty, stinky, punches of your diapers! Charlie's soap seems to have everything clean. 🙂 How funny, I was discussing this with a friend of mine who is concerned about the habits of his newborn (all were very normal, and they do not need concern). I direct this article as another resource to help you feel safer that your baby is wonderfully healthy. Growing up, no one has told me I'd be arguing with my friends without craving. Ha! Good! * it's* interesting what we ended up talking like moms 🙂 Great post! Very thorough. Thanks, Malissa, Xo. Add comment Your email address will not be published.
